Zhengjie Liu


Zhengjie Liu, founder and Director of Sino European Usability Center, Professor at School of Computer Science & Technology of Dalian Maritime University, Chinese National Representative to IFIP TC.13 Committee on Human-Computer Interaction. His areas include usability engineering, accessibility and human-computer interaction.


He is widely recognized as a pioneer in usability engineering in China. He founded Sino European Usability Center (formerly Chinese Center of EU UsabilityNet) in 2000 as the first usability center in China. He provides consultancy to industry including many transnational companies and conducts research that is funded by EU Framework Program, EU Asia-IT&C Program and public funds from Chinese government. He published more than 70 research papers of which many were published internationally in journals and conference proceedings.
    
He is chair of the Academic Committee of ACM SIGCHI China. He is on the editorial board of International Journal of Universal Access in Information Society (UAIS) by Springer and International Journal of Interactive Technology and Smart Education (ITSE) by Troubador. He serves as the member of ISO/TC159/SC1/WG4 on ISO 20282 (Ease of Operation of Everyday Products), US NIST IUSR working group on CIF Usability Test Reporting (ANSI/NCITS-354), ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7/WG6 on Usability Test Reporting and Chinese National Standardization Committee on Ergonomics (SAC/TC7). He also served as Co-chair, Session Chair, Panel Chair and Program/Organization Committee member at various international conferences including INTERACT, HCI International and APCHI. He was the invited speaker on usability at Chinese Ease of Use Roundtable sponsored by Intel and the YOCSEF Forum sponsored by Chinese Computer Federation.
